William Pryde, a Fitter from Falkirk, Scotland, enlisted 18 October 1939. He later volunteered for the Commandos and was attached to No.11 Commando 10 Troop embarking with them for the Middle East as part of Layforce. Lance Corporal Pryde was captured 20 November 1941 during operations at Cyrenaica.
