Private Victor Bailey was in the 1st line of reinforcements for No.3 Commando at Normandy on 9 June 1944 and posted to 6 Troop. On 12 April 1945, now Lance Sergeant, wounded during operations at the River Aller. Released from service 25 January 1946. Resided Welwyn Garden City, Herts., in 1948.
