Telegraphist Robert Anthony Pickering is listed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission as serving attached to HMS Nile when he died. [1]  HMS Nile was a RN shore establishment in Alexandria.

Roll of Honour - PICKERING :- In Dec., killed in action in Greece, TONY (R.N. Commando) the dearly loved son of Gladys Thomas [2].

His Service Record should be checked for confirmation of service in a Commando. In the meantime he is listed in our Special Service Roll of Honour (Service in a Commando not fully established).
