Company Sergeant Major Thomas Spears, HQ Troop, was awarded the Military Medal in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in Sicily [1]. He held the rank of Sergeant at the time, and the award was for his gallantry specifically during operations at Malati. [view an account of this operation].
Post war in the late 50's he was a resident master at Rhydd Court School, Hanley Castle. Worcs. [2].
