Sidney Patrick Gath, a Mercantile Marine Sailor from Manchester, enlisted 27 April 1938. Sergeant Gath, R.A.M.C. attached to No.6 Commando, was reported missing 26 February 1943 at El Arousa, Tunisia (Battle of Steamroller Farm), later confirmed a prisoner of war. Post war resettled in Dumbarton*.
