Samuel Stokes 46 Commando
Samuel William Stokes enlisted into the Royal Marines on 22 January 1942, civil occupation Progress Clerk. Corporal Samuel Stokes, 'X' Troop, 47RM Commando, was wounded and a became a prisoner of war on 28 August 1944 during operations at Beuzeville, France.
After the war in 1945 he was residing in Bognor Regis, Sussex. Member of the Commando Association later residing in the West Midlands.
