Roy Spragg No.2 Commando
Lance Corporal Roy Spragg was wounded twice in Italy, the first on 23 May 1944 and again on 9 October 1944.
Roy Peter Spragg came from a family of hairdressers and was employed as a Hairdresser Improver in Tutbury, Staffordshire, prior to enlisting into the Queen's Own Royal West Kents. After volunteering for the commandos he was posted to No.2 Commando and served in 5 Troop, 'B' Section, No.4 Sub-Section. During the period No.2 Commando were based in Ayr before deployment overseas he was billeted at 15 Eglington Terrace, Ayr. Post war member of the Commando Association from Hull. Final rank attained Lance Sergeant.
