Private Ronald Littler was wounded 11 April 1945 during operations in Western Europe, this date being that of the crossing of the River Aller. Ronald was a Wolverhampton Police Officer who volunteered for the Commandos in 1942 as part of the Police Intakes to the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry.
In 1944 he married a local girl from Worthing, Miss Ruby Bucke. He re-joined the Police after the war moving to Worthing Division (Pc 471) of West Sussex Constabulary. Member of the Commando Association residing Worthing.
