Served in 5 Troop No.1 Commando. Post war member of the Commando Association and Metropolitan Police Officer who in the 1950's was serving at Brixton Police Station. 1952 included in the British Olympic Swimming Team at the Summer Olympics in Helsinki and the 1956 Olympics at Melbourne.

"We congratulate Private (now Police Constable) Ron Roberts (12 and 1 Cdos) for his wonderful swimming achievements. Apart from breaking the 110 yards British freestyle record he represented- England on several occasions, and captained the team during the recent match in Russia. We now hope that he will be selected to represent Great Britain in the forthcoming Olympic Games in Melbourne, Australia."
