Corporal Robert Christopher MM
Corporal Robert Christopher, HQ 1 Commando Brigade, was awarded the Military Medal (Periodic) [1] in recognition of gallant and distinguished services over a prolonged period during operations at Agnone in Sicily, Bova Marina and Termoli, and at Amfreville, Normandy [2].
The recommendation has a letter attached to it from Combined Operations HQ which additionaly cites Cpl. Christopher's participation during operations on the Arakan coast, particularly Myebon and Kangaw (Hill 170), and the fact that Cpl. Christopher was personal orderly to Lt. Col. Peter Young. He accompanied Lt. Col. Young to Burma when he was posted there from NW Europe [2]
