Lieutenant Colonel Robert Bowkett received the Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service in Northern Ireland during the period 1st October 1998 to 31st March 1999. Commanded 42 Commando RM. Promoted Brigadier. Director of Personnel and Corporate Programming in 2001. Chairman of the Board of Navy News. Died in service (cancer).
