Marine Reginald Day 40 RM Commando
Marine Reginald Day died at the 66th British General Hospital, Italy, on the 12th April 1945 of wounds inflicted on 11 April 1945 during operations at Lake Comacchio and Argenta, Italy.
Son of William and Bessie Alice Day, of Widnes, Lancashire.
Reginald Day was employed at the Widnes Dairy of the Runcorn and Widnes Co-operative Society before enlisting into the Royal Marines on 24 June 1941. He volunteered for 40RM Commando on its formation in February 1942 and had served in operations at Dieppe, Sicily, Yugoslavia, Greece, and Italy.
