Reg Allen 8 Commando
Reginald Arthur Allen was a professional footballer who enlisted into the Armed Forces on 3 September 1939. After volunteering for commando service he served in the Folbot Troop of No.8 Commando and No.1 Special Boat Section. Reported missing at sea later found to be a prisoner of war after a raid on shipping at Benghazi Harbour on 21 July 1941. Member of the Commando Association. Former goalkeeper for Queen's Park Rangers FC and Manchester United FC.
