Raymond John Round 6 Commando
Private Raymond Round was reported missing during operations in North Africa on 26 February 1943 [1]. He was later found to be a prisoner of war in Italian hands [2][3][4].

In July 1944 it was reported that he was no longer a prisoner of war and was returning to England[4][5].

Raymond attended Rothedsthorpe Road School Northampton after which he was employed at C.W.S. He  joined the Leicestershire Regiment in 1940 after serving in the Home Guard. He volunteered for the Commandos in 1941 joining No.6 Commando [5]. Post war member of the Commando Association [6].
