1939 employed as Police Constable No.81 residing in Norfolk Street Police Billet, Tynemouth.
Volunteered for the Commandos and served in both No.12 Commando and later in the Far East with No.1 Commando. Post war rejoined Police and in 1956 was promoted Sergeant at Whitley Bay Northumberland. Member of the Commando Association last known residing Bishopthorpe, York.
