Captain Peter Haydon DSO from Penzance was killed during operations at Walcheren. Son of Rollo Hillyard Stafford Haydon and Annie Gwendoline Haydon, of Equador.
Commissioned 17th April 1943. Promoted Acting Temporary Lieutenant 14 June 1943. Lieutenant Peter Haydon received the Distinguished Service Order for conspicuous gallantry and leadership in driving off repeated attacks by the enemy on the road from Salerno to Naples in September 1943, though he was wounded and his men outnumbered by the enemy.
