Percy Jewell was attested into the Royal Artillery on 27 May 1929. He volunteered for the Commandos in World War Two. Gunner Percy Jewell, No.9 Commando, was wounded 3 February 1944 during operations in Italy (Monte Faito and Monte Ornito). Post war member of the Commando Association from Ilfracombe, North Devon. They record his final rank as C.S.M.
