1957 Police Constable promoted Sergeant, Selly Oak Police Station, West Midlands. 
09.01.1974 elected Chairman UK Police Federation. He had been National Vice Chairman for 5 years, Chairman of the Birmingham branch, and Chairman of the Sergeant's Branch.
1976 retired from the Police Force. 
11.06.1977, lately Sergeant West Midlands Police, appointed M.B.E. (Civil Division).
