During the period 9 - 18 Sep. '43 this N.C.O. carried out his duties as medical orderly tending the wounded whilst under fire with complete disregard to personal safety. He searched a hill after our own troops had withdrawn owing to heavy enemy fire and casualties, and brought in two severely wounded men [3].
