Corporal John Busby from Hull was reported in the Casualty Lists as attached to 'D' Bn Layforce [1] at the time of his death through illness in the Middle East [2][3].

Notes
Unlike the Casualty Lists the CWGC do not show Layforce as secondary unit. His name is not on the Westminster Abbey Commando ROH. The 2nd Bn. York and Lancaster Regt was in Crete in 1941. 
'D' Bn. Layforce was formed from No.50 and No.52 ME Commando for the rearguard action in Crete.
Name added to our ROH awaiting future confirmation or otherwise of commando service.
