Lieutenant John Jeffreys, 2 troop, died during operations at Scaletta, Sicily. Son of Captain Robin Edmund Jeffreys, D.S.C., R.N., and Marjorie Ellenwood Jeffreys, of Great Chesterford, Essex.
His younger brother Flight Lieutenant Edmund Henry Jeffreys D.F.C., 248 Sqn., R.A.F.V.R., also died in the war on 10 June 1944 and is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial.
