James Elliott 2 Commando
Gunner (Acting Lance Bombardier) James Elliott, 2 Troop No.2 Commando, was wounded on 16 September 1943 during operations at Salerno, Italy. No.2 Commando were involved in heavy fighting around the village of Piegolelle (aka Piegolette).
Post war member of the Commando Association.

09.07.1943 appointed paid acting Lance Bombardier.
10.02.1944 promoted Bombardier.
04.04.1944 appointed paid acting Lance Sergeant.
26.09.1944 to discharge 16.05.1947 (Corporal) Royal Engineers.
27.09.1950 to 01.09.1958 re-enlisted and served with the Royal Artillery, final rank Sergeant.
