RSM James Edwards 4 Commando
Enlisted 1932 aged 18. Pre war overseas service included Palestine, Shanghai, Singapore. Released from service in 1939; recalled as a reservist at the outbreak of war and posted to France with the British Expeditionary Force. Evacuated from Dunkirk and later volunteered for the commandos joining No.4 Commando. Served at Normandy and RSM of No.4 Commando during Operation Infatuate, November 1944. Post war member of the Commando Association from Ayrshire.
