James Bogle 11 Commando

James Bogle from Glasgow enlisted 27 June 1940 later volunteering for the commandos. He was attached to No.11 Commando and embarked with them for the Middle East as part of Layforce. Private Bogle was was reported missing 24 November 1941 after Operation Flipper, the raid on Rommel's HQ. He was captured at Mechili, Libya, on 26 November 1941. After his release in 1945 he served two years in Germany in the Scottish Rifles*.
