Lance Corporal James Young, Mortar Platoon, died of wounds during operations at Kangaw, Burma.  
Extract from Appendix 2 of the Timeline Report.
"Cpl. Young, Mortar Platoon, with a small party of men made three attempts to reach the bomb dump but this was under enemy machine gun fire and they were driven back.  In the last attempt Cpl. Young was hit and subsequently died of his wounds".
