Jack Neale 6 Commando
Private Jack Neale was reported missing 6 January 1943 during operations in North Africa, later found to be a prisoner of war, in Italy and Germany. On this date his Commando were in the Djebel Azzag (Sedjenane) area of Tunisia.
Extract from the Leicester Evening Mail
"Pte. Jack Neale, whose wife and three children live at Oxford Road, Clarendon Park, Leicester, has been reported missing in North Africa. Pte. Neale is 27 and was formerly employed as a bricklayer's labourer at the Leicester Power Station but joined the Army in May 1940. About 18 months ago he transferred to the Commandos."
