Jack John Smith, a Lancashire Farmer, enlisted into the Royal Marines 7 April 1943. He was reported missing 7 June 1944 later confirmed prisoner of war at Sallenelles from 9th June 1944. Post war member of the Commando Association from Atherton, Manchester.
