Canadian soldier posted to England in 1940. Served with No. 1 Small Scale Raiding Force in the Mediterranean including Operation Snapdragon at Pantellaria setting off on the submarine H.M.S. Unshaken from Malta on 24 May 1943. Reported missing 1 July 1943 during Operation Hawthorn, a raid on airfields at Sardinia. Later confirmed captured by the Italians. Prisoner of war until May 1945 spending most of that time at Oflag 79.
