Constable Ivan Harrison
Ivan Harrison from Holt in Wiltshire joined the Oxfordshire Constabulary as a Police Constable in 1939. In 1942 he volunteered for the Commandos joining the Royal Marines on 12 August at the time of the Police Intakes to the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre) at Achnacarry. Sergeant Harrison serving in 30 Commando Assault Unit received a Mention in Despatches for distinguished service in Europe. Post war rejoined Oxfordshire Constabulary.
