Sergeant William Hooper was wounded during operations in Sicily. Later changed his surname to Tweedly. Member of the Commando Association residing in Ontario.
Extract from Commando Association newsletter 10 (March 1950)
"L/Sgt. W. J. Hooper (now Tweedly) (3 Cdo) of 36, Water St. North, Galt, Ontario, now Bn. Drill Sergant in the Highland Light Infantry of Canada, reports that the training he received at Achnacarry is standing him in good stead. He receives nothing but glowing reports from his superiors of the recruits now in his care."
