Herbert Skelton, a Plumber from Leeds, enlisted into the Armed Forces in December 1939 later volunteering for the commandos. Rifleman Skelton, No.7 Commando attached to Layforce, was reported missing later confirmed prisoner of war 21 April 1941 during an operation at Bardia, Cyrenaica, Libya.
