Herbert Sachs was of the Jewish Faith and served under an alias of Herbert Seymour in 3 troop, also known as 'X' troop, of No.10 (Inter Allied) Commando. He was reported missing 23 March 1945 whilst attached to 46RM Commando during operations in Western Europe, later confirmed as having been killed in action. At the time of his death they were engaged in Operation Widgeon at the River Rhine near Wesel. Son of Eugen and Margaret Sachs, of St. John's Wood, London.
