Lance Corporal Harold Brook died [1] during operations in France with 1st Special Air Service Regiment having left the Commandos. He was reported as missing in action during Operation Houndforce [2]. 
 
Harold served in the British Expeditionary Force in France before volunteering for the Commandos.  He joined No. 8 (Guards) Commando on 6 August 1940. His Commando was sent to the Middle East as part of Layforce. When Layforce was disbanded he joined the Middle East Commando on 20 January 1942, later volunteering for the 1st S.A.S. on 26 September. [2].
