George_Ormesher_5_Commando
George Ormesher, a Miner from Blackburn, enlisted into the East Lancashire Regiment on 12 February 1933. During the war he volunteered for special service and was attached to No.5 Commando. Corporal Ormesher was wounded in Madagascar and subsequently died of his wounds on board the hospital ship H.M.H.S. Vasna. Buried at sea. Remembered on the East Africa Memorial, Kenya. Son of Margaret Ormesher from Blackburn.
