Rifleman Geoff Hill, 5 troop, was wounded 23 March 1944 during operations in Burma. He was a good friend of Lance Corporal Mick Collins, 5 Troop, both having volunteered for special service in the Commandos from the King's Royal Rifle Corps.
Paired up as Pals during their training at Achnacarry they fought side by side in Burma and were both wounded in the same action. They remained in close contact post war until Mick sadly succumbed to TB in 1956.
