The exact circumstances of the death of Private Frederick Oliver are not fully known to this archive. He is listed as one of ten men from the 1st Bn. Duke of Wellington's Regiment who were wounded in Italy on the 8th October 1944, a further six being wounded on the 7th, 9th, and 10th [1]. However he is recorded as attached to No.4 Commando on the C.W.G.C. entry for his death on the 30th March 1946 [2].
