Frederick Manning 5 Commando

In 1939 Frederick Manning was a Police Constable residing at 14 Council Cottages, West Malling, Kent. He volunteered for the commandos in 1942 and was posted to the 3rd Police Intake at the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry, commencing 15 October 1942. He served with No.5 Commando in the Far East and post war resumed his service with the Police.
