In 1939 Metropolitan Police Constable 309E Dennis Hubbard, warrant number 125668, was residing at the Police Section House, 53 Judd Street, St. Pancras.
Constable Hubbard volunteered for the commandos in 1942 and joined the 1st Police Intake at the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry. On completing the course he was attached to No.3 Commando. This course was dated 24 June to 27 August 1942.
He is recorded as being at 62 Main Dressing Station sometime between the end of September 1943 until the end of October 1943 during deployment to Italy. The No.3 War Diary records he is no longer there by the end of October 1943, presumably back with No.3 Commando. Released from military service 27 September 1945.
