Extract from the Birmingham Daily Post - Friday 02 December 1960

"Commando Dies on Welsh Mountain :-  A mountain rescue team yesterday found the body of a Royal Marine commando near the summit of Carnedd Llewelyn, a 3,484 ft. peak in the Snowdon range. The commando, George Greenstreet, aged 20, a member of a detachment from Lyrnpstone Devon became exhausted near the end of a training exercise on Wednesday. A colleague built a stone shelter to protect him from near-gale force winds and went for help. On Wednesday night a rescue party called off their search when several members became exhausted. Yesterday, when the search was resumed, the body was found and carried to Bethesda. Greenstreet was the son of Mr. F. E. Greenstreet of Godinton Park, Ashford, Kent."
