Charles Ernest Mills, a Miller and Millwright from Suffolk, enlisted 15 January 1940. Private Mills later volunteered for the Commandos and was attached to No.7 Commando embarking with them for the Middle East. He was reported missing 2 June 1941 during operations at Crete, later confirmed a prisoner of war since 1 June 1941.
