Charles Henry Mellows 11 Commando
Gunner (Driver in Charge) Charles Mellows was reported wounded on 9 June 1941 during operations at Litani River, Syria. Post war member of the Commando Association from Kent.

Notes
  • His son Peter adds, "My Dad was shot in the ankle which led to him being medically discharged as unfit for military service. He suffered with this disability for the rest of his life."
  • The Commando Association  record he also served in No.4 Commando. In newsletter 111 they record his rank as Sgt, in 112 no rank is shown. This may have been a temporary one or an error as it is not shown on his service record.
