Cedric Bowden was a Plymouth City Police Officer who volunteered for the commandos in 1942 joining the 2nd Police Intake at the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry. After completing the training he was attached to No.1 Commando.
Active service included Africa and Burma. By 1945 he was serving with No.1 Commando HQ.
In 1966 Cedric Bowden became Secretary of the Commando Associaton Plymouth Branch.

23.07.1942 enlisted Armed Forces.

24.01.1946 re-joined Plymouth City Police.
11.11.1954 promoted Police Sergeant.
31.03.1967 Plymouth City merged with surrounding forces and became part of the newly formed Devon and Cornwall Constabulary.
30.06.1968 retired on pension.
