Albert Ernest Frank Carter, a Salesman from Southend, enlisted into the Royal Marines 28 March 1941. Marine Carter, 47RM Commando, was captured 7 June 1944 during operations at Port-en-Bessin, Normandy. Liberated from Marlag and Milag Nord Camp 28 April 1945.
