Bruno Albert Magnoni volunteered for the Commandos during October 1941 and joined No.3 Commando 4 Troop in December that year. Took part in the Dieppe Raid in August 1942 and the invasion of Sicily in July 1943. Seriously wounded September 1943 during Operation Ferdy at Vibo Valentia, Italy. Evacuated to the UK, later medically discharged from service [1][1a][1b][c]. Post war Bruno was a songwriter and actor and used the name Max Diamond. Member of the Commando Association from Harrow, Middlesex.  Author of 'Joust a Minute' an account of his Commando memories, and amusing experiences in the world of light and pop music, the Sealed Knot Society, and the art of mediaeval jousting [1][2].
