Extract from the Globe and Laurel
"Sgt. Andy Evans was killed in action on 21 May 1982, durtng the initial landings at Port San Carlos on East Falklands Island, when the Gazelle which he was flying was shot down. Andy had served in the Brigade Air Squadron since 1979 as a Gazelle pilot, and was a well liked and respected NCO. He will be a sadly missed member of our community and of his own village community at Landrake where he played such an active part in local life. He leaves a widow, June, and two children to whom we extend our very deep sympathy."
