Bombardier Alfred Child was reported missing presumed killed in action at sea. Son of Charlie and Annie Child; husband of P. M. Child, of Moredon, Wiltshire.
Bombardier Child and Lance Corporal Clive Severn, both attached to 1 Special Boat Section, were on board the submarine HMS Triumph with which all contact was lost in the Aegean Sea during January 1942. There were no survivors.
