In 1939 Albert Kennedy was a Police Constable residing in Wallasey, Cheshire. Constable Kennedy volunteered for the commandos in 1942 and was posted to the 2nd Police Intake at the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry. Private Kennedy was attached to No.4 Commando and served in France and the advance to Germany. Released from military service 5 September 1945. Re-joined Wallasey Police which was later absorbed into Cheshire Constabulary. Retired in 1969 in the rank of Detective Superintendent after 30 years service. Member of the Commando Association last known residing Wallasey.
