Sub Lieutenant Alan Davis  died during operations at Elba [1][2]. He received a posthumous Mention in Despatches for "distinguished service in operations carried out in the face of determined opposition from the enemy which led to the capture of the island of Elba" [2].  He was an Assistant Beachmaster during the operation [3].

The CWGC list his unit only as HMS Armadillo. This was a Combined Operations base in the UK.
