Gunner Thomas Pritchard died in the UK from injuries received in an accident whilst grenades were being primed on board the ship HMS Prince Charles which was being used for night time landings. He was injured in the same grenade priming accident which killed Lance Sergeant Horace Cartlidge, No 6 Commando. The accident occurred late afternoon on 9 December 1941.
