Douglas William David volunteered for the Commandos from the Police.
  • 9 February 1939 joined the Metropolitan Police, warrant number 125614. Later resided at Blackheath Police Section House, Greenwich, SE10.
  • 22 June 1942 joined the Armed Forces as part of the 1st Police Intake to the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry. Attached No.2 Commando, next of kin his wife, home address Brockley, London SE4.
  • 03 October 1946 discharged from military service.
  • 14 January 1947 re-joined the Metropolitan Police; 19 September 1947 voluntarily resigned.
  • 1948 resided in Bruton, Somerset.
